Skin infections such as boils are caused by staph bacteria. Some skin infections result from MRSA and can be difficult to quickly and completely eradicate. Skin spray that contains monolaurin can be used on cuts, incisions and boils to fight harmful bacteria.
A 2007 study in the Journal of Drugs in Dermatology concluded that monolaurin showed statistically significant results against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria found in superficial skin infections.
Combined with colloidal silver, which also has antibiotic properties, monolaurin can be effectively used to kill MRSA bacteria on the skin and prevent or reduce the severity of minor to moderate skin infections.
